Experience Summary
At Northwestern University, I majored in French Language and Literature and completed extensive coursework in English literature and creative writing. I split my junior year between a semester in Senegal and one in France to solidify my French fluency. Meanwhile, my writing-intensive study in French and English left me a thorough understanding of the requirements of successful composition writing and the grammatical principles essential to any well-executed essay. Upon graduating, I sought out volunteer opportunities in addition to my full-time employment to encourage children and adults to attain their academic potential and confidence in their knowledge and skills.
Teaching Style
I want to demonstrate to kids the trajectory from what they learn in school to the real-world application of these skills. As a student of foreign language, I felt aware of where French could take me, and the same is true for any subject. I want kids to feel empowered to succeed on any exam, but also realize the magnitude their education holds on their future. I am friendly, approachable, considerate, and patient. Learning is fun and exciting, and I want children to feel that way.
