Experience Summary
I have had many years of leadership experience. I believe this leadership experience allows me to work well with and lead others. In college, I participated in several cultural clubs on campus. I was the Fundraising Chairperson, Luau Food Chairperson, and eventually the President of the Hawaii-Pacific Islanders Club.
My Bachelor of Arts in International Relations comprised of reading and writing-intensive courses that focused on subjects including history and political science. In addition, continuous progress on my 30-page thesis paper required for my major has refined my research and writing skills.
While attending St. Francis High School, I assisted teaching reading and music to preschoolers at least two hours a week.
Teaching Style
Based off my leadership experience, I believe the best way to help others improve in anything is to individualize their needs. In order to do this, it is best to understand the way others think and work from there. I will apply this idea to any student I may be able to help. By individualizing their needs, one may tap into the knowledge of students and open their minds to new ways of learning.
I am patient, open-minded, and believe in positive reinforcement to support anyone. My top priority is not to give away answers but to share understanding and open-mindedness about different ways of thinking.
