Experience Summary
As a graduate of the prestigious university, Duquesne, I learned early on to be driven with my work ethics in the classroom. After finishing up my undergraduate, I immediately returned to Graduate school to work towards my certification as a Reading Specialist. I will be graduating in August of 2011. I have been working towards my degree while teaching pre-kindergarten at Shady Lane School.
Teaching Style
I have always loved working with children and had dreams of being a teacher when I grew up as long as I can remember. I love to incorporate creativity into learning, especially by motivating children through their interest areas. To do this, I take time to learn about my students. I believe inquiry-based learning is the most effective because students drive their success and learning through their own interests and wonderings about their world. I find nothing more satisfying than watching a child smile when they finally understand a concept and feel confident in themselves.
