Experience Summary
I have recently finished my Master's program in piano performance. I am an active teacher as well as a performer in the Boston area. Though primarily trained as a classical musician, I am a versatile pianist and have various experiences playing for and directing musical productions and cabaret concerts.
I have also been studying voice for the past 6 years and have participated in numerous opera workshops and vocal ensembles.
As an undergraduate at Wellesley College, I majored in art history and have extensive research, writing, and analytical skills. With my liberal arts and musical background, I feel confident in tutoring students in English, history, mathematics, physics and needless to say, the arts.
Teaching Style
I think one of the most important qualities for a teacher is to have a radiant enthusiasm for the subject you are teaching. After all, how can you get the students excited to learn, if you are not excited about the material you are teaching? You also need to be observant and able to identify how your students learn best and cater to their different learning styles. Finally and mostly importantly, a good teacher is patient and believes in their students' potentials and enthusiastically aids their students in reaching those potentials.
