Experience Summary
Though I have one more semester before graduating, I have completed all of my coursework in Philosophy and all but one course in both my Mathematics and History of Science minors. Studying philosophy has given me experience with critical and precise thinking. Furthermore, most of my courses have been research and writing oriented, so I have a thorough knowledge of grammar and essay writing. Finally, I am well-versed in Mathematics, being just one course shy of a minor. I have maintained perfect grades through Calculus IV and keep up with that knowledge regularly.
Teaching Style
I have tutored non-professionally for some time. Doing so has provided me with experience with a variety of students ranging from the first grade level to college freshman. I cater accordingly to each level of student, always exercising patience and approaching topics from multiple angles. I understand that some students are visual, kinesthetic, or auditory learners, or a combination of all three. To gauge the students, I make sure every step in a given concept is clear - not by simply asking if the student understands, but also engaging that which they just learned.
