Experience Summary
I am currently a paid tutor at Montlake Elementary School, assisting with language arts and math - at all levels. I have a secondary school teaching credential, and I taught English, reading, and ESL. As a lawyer, I have excellent writing skills especially in organization and editing. I love being in the classroom and helping students learn. When I am not in the classroom, I am a volunteer tutor (New Holly) assisting in math and reading. I have taught ESL in a variety of environments and do well with cross-cultural challenges.
Teaching Style
I am patient, considerate, and teach with a style that makes a student feel good about himself/herself. I have straight-forward expectations and work with my student to hone them to a particular subject or situation. I am funny, and I work hard to create activities that are appropriately challenging, but fun. I want my students to miss me when I am not there!
