Experience Summary
As a mathematics major, I tutored undergrad and grad students who experienced difficulty in their math courses, during the summer and the regular school year. Throughout my nine years of teaching, I've taught a variety of subjects, and I have learned how to build mature learners and effectively prepare students to be successful in their future math classes. As a current high school department chair, I teach Algebra. I've tutored middle, and high school students in 6th-8th Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Advanced Functions and Modeling, and Discrete Math.
Teaching Style
I believe that cooperation among teachers, parents, and students is paramount to a student's success. I always facilitate open communication between every party that's invested in the child that I am tutoring. I maintain an easy-going yet structured atmosphere, where students feel comfortable sharing and learning. I use a variety of resources (i.e. websites, calcultors activites, traditional worksheets) to assist my students.
