Experience Summary
For eight years I worked as a full-time writing tutor at Tulsa Community College. Tutoring everything from basic grammar and writing concepts to how to write composition and research papers, I’ve helped students from all backgrounds with widely different academic and career goals. I also have twelve years experience teaching in the college classroom. In 2008 I undertook specialized tutor training through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah to enhance my tutoring skills. In 2009, I earned the CRLA Master Tutor certificate.
Teaching Style
I love tutoring! Students from high school grades 11 and 12 through college level traditional and non-traditional students will benefit from my expertise, patience, humor, consideration, and ability to meet them at their level and help them progress. I explain grammar and writing in everyday language that makes the whole writing process understandable. I believe every student can grow and become a better writer. I have helped many people over the years to do just that!
