Experience Summary
The French language has been one of my passions since I started studying it in high school. I followed this passion into college at UC Davis where I will receive my BA in French next month. I recently returned from a year long study abroad program in Lyon, France where I studied International Relations at the University of Lyon. I will also receive a BA in this subject. My French has improved tremendously and I am proud to say that I have mastered the language and speak it fluently.
Teaching Style
In Lyon I helped young middle school children with their English at an after school program. At first this was very difficult for me but I figured out the best way to effectively help the kids learn. I found that engaging the students using their own personal interests was key. For example, using video game or cartoon magazines to start conversation topics and to help with pronunciation, spelling, etc. Kids love to learn if it's fun and exciting.
