Experience Summary
My work experience in industry and my intensive graduate academic training well positioned me for college level teaching. I taught a variety of management and finance courses including Introduction to Management, International Finance, International Management, Strategic Planning, Procurement, Accounting, and Systems Development as a full-time Assistant Professor at Merrimack College until I started a family and then taught part-time for many years. After moving to Rhode Island, I taught at both Providence College and Bryant University as an adjunct lecturer. Currently, I am an adjunct lecturer teaching Accounting and Management at Johnson and Wales University. In addition, I tutor SAT Prep for the children of neighbors and friends.
Teaching Style
Teaching is my vocation and as a highly trained analyst, I take great joy in shaping strategy and understanding how all the elements of business fit together. There is nothing more gratifying, however, than sharing that with young people, watching them grasp an idea or convincing them that accounting is, in fact, exciting because of its necessity in the whole picture. I love to walk into a classroom and assess the many different talents, ideas and needs and connect to each person, thus I prefer small classes and one-on-one teaching. Teaching is personal and each student is different bringing myriad of possibilities and challenges that should leave you a different person having shaped and directed some of those possibilities and challenges.
