Experience Summary
I have worked with kids for nearly 10 years as an instructional soccer coach. I have also worked as a substitute teacher for the past three years at the K-12 level. Currently, I am enrolled in the Teachers' Credentialing Program at CSUS and taught 8th-grade Science last semester at Sylvan Middle School in Citrus Heights. I will be teaching freshman Science next semester at Casa Roble Fundamental High School in Orangevale. I am scheduled to complete the credentialing program in December of 2011, at which time I intend to teach full-time.
Teaching Style
In a classroom setting, I adapt my teaching style so that all students can learn. I get to know my students well so that I will be able to recognize when they may be experiencing personal issues that might affect their learning. It is also important that I show my students that I care about them and their success. Students need to realize that it is ok to make mistakes, and I need to ensure that they feel safe to do so without fear of ridicule. It is my job to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all of my students and to provide stimulating instruction in various forms to ensure that all students are able to learn in the way they learn best.
