Experience Summary
Working hard and always driven is how I was able to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Bilingual 4th – 8th grade. Sul Ross State University gave me the tools and expertise needed in order to achieve mastery on my chosen career in education as well as making me proficient in all academic areas such as English, Math, and Science including Bilingual Education.Furthermore my college courses at Sul Ross made me alert to the importance of hands on activities, visuals aids and providing individualized instructional support for a diverse population.During the last four years Ive had the privilege to gain a great deal of knowledge and to experience working with kids on a day to day basis.
Teaching Style
Working with kids is my fascination. I believe that teaching children should not be standing up and lecturing or simply explaining something. Its about getting to know the students, making the students feel important and unique in their own special way and most importantly I believe a teacher should be a role model. The teacher must adjust his or her teaching approach to the way the student will learn what’s being taught to them not the other way around. Everything should be done in the interest of the children and their academic success. All students are different and they all have different learning styles. It is the teacher’s duty to find out what leaning style the student holds and target that teaching approach.
