Experience Summary
I graduated in June 2009 with my Master’s in Elementary Education as well as my Texas teaching certification. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I completed my student teaching experience in the second grade as well as completed a long term substitute teaching experience in the second grade classroom as well. Last August I completed my first year of teaching in a third grade classroom. I also participated in an afterschool tutoring program for third and fourth grade students with an emphasis on Mathematics and Reading. I have worked around children in some capacity for most of my adult life, and truly enjoy teaching!
Teaching Style
I believe strongly that every child has the ability to learn and can experience success in an academic environment given the right tools. I am compassionate and easy going, and believe children learn in different ways. My style of teaching involves whatever means the child needs to experience success. I believe that children learn best from hands on experiences and the patience and encouragement of the teacher. I am not afraid to employ any method needed to help a child.
