Experience Summary
I am obtaining my MS in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California. I have previously successfully tutored groups of four K-12 students at a tutoring center on a range of courses they were taking. From my experiences I developed my innovative application of the Sokratic Method which has ensured every tutoring session has been educationally progressive and has improved the study and critical thinking skills of the pupil.
Teaching Style
My innovative approach to tutoring is using the Sokratic Method while transcribing the results of the process. All questioning and answering derived from this method is meticulously and clearly documented on paper and in audio (later burned to a CD) for the pupil to refer back to as study material. This is a powerful study tool after the pupil's knowledge has been scrutinized, as it helps them visualize and review their thinking and learning.
Slowly but surely the pupil begins to develop better study skills and a deeper understanding of the material he/she wishes to learn. Because my method is individualized, every tutoring session generates unique material and teaching lessons. No two lesson materials are alike!
