I spend time learning the studnet's current capabilities and build upon them. I use a combination of student effort and gradual suggestions to ensure understanding. I think Math is
an important part of a student's education. Its used in many fields of study and comes in handy for day to day living. If students sees the benefit of learning, their interest can be expanded.
