Experience Summary
My excellent writing skills, ACT score of 35, and passion for academics got me into Vanderbilt University, from which I acquired my BA in 2009. I studied every subject I could but found most pleasure in political science and sociology. In addition to these fields, I have expertise in grammar, essay composition, and a variety of creative arts. I also have teaching knowledge of the basic maths and sciences. Overall, I have about three years of teaching and mentoring experience in my repertoire.
Teaching Style
I believe that when a student does not do well in school, it is not because that student cannot learn. Different teaching methods speak to different students, and sometimes a student simply needs a fresh and alternative introduction to subject material. My job as a tutor is to find the teaching method that speaks most clearly to my student. By being patient, precise, persistent, and knowledgeable, I know I can help my student reach his/her academic goals.
