Experience Summary
The past four years, I have had experience with a diverse population of students working in the Wichita Public School District. In the classroom, I teach and coach students on all subjects, including: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, P.E. and Computer Technology. I have held tutoring sessions after school with young students as well as grown adults. At the University of Kansas, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the William Allen White School of Journalism. I also served a year of AmeriCorps where I participated in a variety of community service projects.
Teaching Style
When I am teaching a subject, I attempt to pinpoint exactly where the pupil is misunderstanding the content. Then, I explain to the student in a way I believe will come across more natural. I truly believe in the variety of learning styles that all people possess. I believe they should be considered strengths and not weaknesses.
