Experience Summary
After achieving a B.S. in Business Administration with an accounting concentration in 2006, I worked as a Senior Associate for a public accounting firm in Sacramento. I worked in teams supervising and training staff right out of college for several years. However, my true passion is teaching, leading me to a career change. My tutoring experience in high school, coaching experience in college, and recent camp counseling experience this past summer has provided me with many exciting and valuable teaching moments that motivated this change! I was born to teach! I am currently working toward achieving a Teaching Credential in Mathematics from CSU Sacramento.
Teaching Style
Ever since I was young, I have been aware of sincerity in people, whether teacher or other adult. I found myself trusting and respecting those that treated me as a person with an individual mind rather than a senseless child. I worked harder to gain their respect and to represent myself well. This is the basis for my teaching style. I connect well with children because I am sincerely interested in seeing them do well and believe in themselves. I assess their level of understanding before jumping into an explanation and work with them to uncover the solution, challenging and encouraging them along the way.
