Experience Summary
I initially entered the engineering field because I enjoyed math and science. I still enjoy math and science and I think I can help students understand these subjects. I have taken physics, calculus, chemistry, upper division and graduate engineering coursework. During my education, I realized that working with others greatly helped me solve problems and finish assignments faster and better. I have engineered multiple building projects while considering multiple interactions from an architectural/ structural design perspective. I have realized that it is important and necessary to break down these difficult problems into smaller, simpler problems to solve. I have been working for 10 years as an engineer.
Teaching Style
I have recently started in the field of tutoring. I believe it is important that the student understands the theory part of a topic, but more importantly to do practice examples to see how the problems are solved. I think one can understand a problem and its solution once they see how problems have a certain methods of approach. I like to show how problems can be solved by showing the student multiple approaches to each particular topic. I think it is also helpful that the student solves the problems while the tutor directs the student, however I do pay close attention to each student's individual needs and learning methods. I believe I can do an excellent job in helping students solve math and science problems.
