Experience Summary
As a graduate of The University of Central Oklahoma, I have been driven to pursue a career in education. I have always loved the academic setting, and recently found that it is where I want my career setting to be. I received my certification through Oklahoma's Alternate Placement Program and have been gaining experience as a long term and preferred substitute in the Moore and Edmond Public Schools Districts for the past 2 years. I have completed long term substitute positions in both English and Drama and have learned a great deal about teaching style through those experiences. I am currently working toward a Master's degree in 20th and 21st century studies in English at UCO as well.
Teaching Style
As a teacher, my goal is to provide instruction that will aid each student in earning the best possible education. Through my experiences, I have learned that each student has his/her own special way of learning and applying what they have learned. I believe in teaching through creativity and giving each student the freedom to be an individual success. I also believe that students need structure in order to discover and meet their true potentials. I was afforded a wonderful education and was allowed to thrive both academically and creatively, and this is my goal when working with students today.
