Experience Summary
Throughout my graduate program at Western Michigan University, I taught at least one Business Statistics class per semester, was a volunteer statistics tutor for all undergraduate statistics courses, and consulted PhD students of other disciplines who needed help understanding or communicating statistics in their field. Furthermore, I worked as a part-time instructor for a semester at Kalamazoo Valley Community College teaching Mathematical Statistics. I have earned a BS and MS both in statistics, which have equipped me with an understanding in many areas of math, research, statistics, and science. In particular, I have extensive knowledge and experience in communicating mathematics (from basic algebra to advanced calculus) and statistics.
Teaching Style
I have always been passionate about teaching and helping students of all ages and educational levels. Education is a powerful and necessary tool to achieve success, and I am motivated by making a difference at a personal level. With my previous teaching experience, I understand that each and every student has a different style of learning that best utilizes his/her natural strengths and abilities. It is my goal to motivate and help students exceed this potential by providing the best personalized education possible. I am patient, compassionate, and personable; a teacher, mentor, and coach. By teaching through discovery, I provide an interactive approach to learning specifically tailored to the needs and abilities of the individual student.
