Experience Summary
I am currently a graduate student in the University of Utah's Doctor of Pharmacy program. I've completed 4 1/2 years of college education with a total of 146 credit hours. The largest majority of my course work has been in chemistry, including: general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. In addition I have had several health science courses and math courses including: human biology, human anatomy, human pysiology, microbiology, college algebra, Calculus 1, calculus 2, and a year of physics. While attending school I have been employed as a tutor for human biology, human physiology and microbiology and worked for The Sanpete County School District tutoring middle school aged students in math and science.
Teaching Style
I have had opportunities to teach in many different settings -ranging from college labs and middle school classrooms to special education and health care settings. Through these experiences it became clear to me that not all people learn in the same way. This said, I believe that there are some general approaches to which all respond well. These include: patience, understanding, organization, and clarity. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than taking a concept that is difficult and foreign and presenting it in a way that people can understand. I will do my best in providing a personalized, professional learning environment for each student with which I work.
