Experience Summary
As a Boston College graduate of both the undergraduate and masters in accounting program, I feel as though I am extremely proficient in many areas of business, including writing and math skills as well. The math skills are from my first year and a half as a math major at Boston College, and the writing skills come primarily from my English courses and BC's strong requirement for business writing as a necessary qualification to graduate. I have only tutored students for one year as a service learning project, at the Saint Kevin's School in Dorchester, MA (an elementary school) in basic reading, writing and math skills.
Teaching Style
I am very interested in seeing kids prosper through the obtainment of knowledge and learning new ideas. I think that it is crucial for students to be taught in accordance to his/her own personal needs, which hopefully while working with the same tutee, I would be able to pinpoint. I am patient when it comes to children having particular difficulty with a certain subject matter or concept, and I love when things finally "click" for the child. I hope to facilitate the learning and education experience in the lives of the tutees I work with and to make education more painless and fun.
