Experience Summary
I currently have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and hold an Arizona teaching certificate. I have spent many years volunteering in both my parent's classrooms. I have also spent the last school year substituting in elementary schools in Tennessee where I am living now. I have thoroughly enjoyed substituting in different grades and subjects. Each day is something new and exciting! I have taught six weeks in a first grade classroom, and have had many other assignments as a second grade teacher, third grade teacher, fifth grade teacher, p.e. teacher, art teacher and middle school English teacher. I will be in Yuma, Arizona this summer and would love to help your student(s) improve their skills and become prepared for the next school year!
Teaching Style
I believe that each child is capable of learning. I want my students to know that I will not give up on them, and that I believe they are all capable of learning and making progress. I believe that students succeed when they are actively involved in their own learning. For this reason, I will use plenty of hands-on activities and manipulatives that will reinforce concepts to students. I have always loved learning new things, and would love to share and instill my joy of learning to each child I teach.
