Experience Summary
While pursuing my own studies in college, I realized that I not only love learning but that I love to increase learning in others as well. Because of this, I spent many hours throughout college volunteering to tutor calculus and chemistry students. During my last two years of college, I worked as a chemistry teaching assistant, a position that allowed me to teach chemistry to groups of 25 college students. As evidence of my effectiveness and clarity in teaching, I won four undergraduate teaching awards during this period. Currently, I work as a private tutor for high school students and tutor them in all levels of math, science, psychology, English, and ACT test preparation.
Teaching Style
I love learning and feel that all types of learning and knowledge increase our ability to more fully appreciate the beauties of life. When tutoring, I do what I can to instill this love of learning in those around me through patience and gentle motivation. My experience teaching and tutoring a variety of subjects and age groups has taught me to adapt my own tutoring methods to the learning styles and abilities of individual students.
