Experience Summary
I earned my first degree in May 2010; I hold a BS in Applied Psychology and am pursuing an MS in Applied Psychology, which I should earn later this year. As an undergraduate and as an graduate student, I have explored my passion for learning and as a by product honed my writing skills. For three years of my undergraduate career, I worked as a Writing Tutor. I have experience tutoring papers for many subjects, i.e. humanities, biology, aviation, nutrition, and computer sciences. I also have extensive experience working with writers who are not native English speakers.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is that of empowerment. I believe everyone is capable of producing great written works and try to guide an individual through exploring their writing style and voice. My method is not to tell a writer how to write an assignment, but to offer guidance and feedback. Ultimately, the writing I tutor is not my own, so I attempt to empower the writer so that he or she becomes a better writer.
