Experience Summary
I earned a B. A. in French at The U. of Tennessee & have begun work on a Masters in Linguistics at The U. of Memphis.
I have tutored French since 2004, volunteered teaching English, & worked as an English language assistant in a high school in France. My experience has afforded me the opportunity of the responsibilities of preparing French high school students for the required national exam to graduate high school in France by organizing my own lessons in collaboration w/the English teaching staff, helping to prepare students for tests, to speak & write well in a foreign language (discussing many elements of phonetics, vocabulary & grammar), to successfully complete homework assignments, & counseling students on study skills.
Teaching Style
I love teaching & working w/ children & adults. I believe that everyone is good at languages because we all use language all the time: whether it is written, spoken, or even signed. I am confident that I can help anyone learn French. I know what it is like to learn another language.
I am patient, flexible, animated, & enjoyable to learn from. My goal is to bring a love of the subject into the classroom. I believe that the competence of & interaction w/ the teacher brings confidence to the students to succeed in the subject.
I strive to help students realize their potential as French learners.
