Experience Summary
I am a native speaker of Arabic. I learned three major languages when getting my education:Modern standard Arabic, French and English. I earned a Bachelor degee in English language and literature which enabled me to get my permanent ESL teaching licence. I taught ESL for nine years; two years in private schools and seven years in a public school. I volunteered to teach ESL to adults in my community. I have tutoring experience helping students learn Arabic, French and ESL. I am a volunteer with a well-known organization in Washington,DC; helping young Americans learn Arabic. I was awarded twice for subject matter expertise in teaching Arabic to Foreign service officials.
Teaching Style
My decision to pursue a career in teaching is due, in part, to my intrinsic desire to make a positive impact on the life of people.
My teaching style can best be described as one that incorporates a diversity of teaching methodologies and techniques. I am a strong advocate of hands-on minds-on learning because I understand that supplementing curriculum with a variety of activities is essential to the learning process. I enthusiastically engage students in fascinating lessons and use strategies that address each student’s learning style. I understand the importance of using instructional strategies that appropriately address the different learning styles and needs of students in order to become an effective educator.
