Experience Summary
I am an experienced writer, having authored three novels, two of which have been published, and one screenplay. Moreover, I published an electronic newsletter. In addition, I worked in a tutorial program for four years at Medgar Evers College of CUNY, one year at the College of New Rochelle, School of New Resources, and two and a half years as an English teacher at Paul Robeson High School. I have also earned an additional 18 graduate credits above my Master of Arts degree in a professional education program from Fordham University and the College of Saint Rose. I am a certified English teacher.
Teaching Style
I am adept at implementing pedagogical methods, particularly in the area of cooperative learning techniques. As a high school English teacher, I utilized such skills to help disadvantaged students and 80 percent of them passed the New York State Regents exam. In an era where principles oftentimes take a back seat to personal interests, I pride myself on maintaining a high degree of integrity and leading by example. Writing and teaching are my passion and the students benefit consequently.
