Experience Summary
I am a graduate of Marymount University in Arlington, VA. I hold a dual bachelor's degree in History and English. I have taken several science and math courses as well at the college level. While I attended Marymount University, I tutored for 2.5 years in the subject areas of Writing, Reading, Vocabulary, English, and History. I also have experience as a Stockbroker with Fidelity Investments for 2.5 years, so my math skills are strong as well.
Teaching Style
When I was in high school, I had a pre-calculus tutor. While I paid attention in class, I had trouble working out the math problems at home. I thank my tutor for the A I received in that subject. I believe every student can benefit from some one-on-one attention, whether the child is solving a math problem, researching for an essay, or learning to read. I believe in leading by example in problem solving, and by asking questions to help the child piece together an essay or problem.
