Experience Summary
At St. Andrews Presbyterian College, I enjoyed helping fellow classmates write essays and found that my skills in English were immensely useful in all classes. I took a job working at the school library and was paid to help students with research and writing. Last year, I finished my first screenplay entitled "For Sale by Owner", a thesis, and my original TV pilot, which I helped produce at the school. It was wonderful to work alongside my Film, English and Honors professors to help other students shine in their own writing talents. I look forward to continuing to work alongside others to really show the discovery and excitement of creating and of learning.
Teaching Style
What I enjoy most about working with children and adults in tutoring is helping them to realize the skills and abilities they have. In my teaching, I like to encourage students and let them learn, believing that each person is their own best teacher and that the real progress is the progress you make on your own. Of course, I love to work closely with my students, but even more than that, I love helping them see that they truly have the power to make anything happen. I think that tutoring gives a great opportunity to student and teacher alike to learn not only in the subjects in which they study, but to learn what core talents and skills a person has.
