Experience Summary
I have recently graduated from Lyon College with a degree in mathematics and a 4.0. From this I have achieved a high level of excellence and performance. Also, I worked as a math tutor for Lyon College in the learning center and as a math tutor for Cedar Ridge High School after school during my time in college. Along with these positions, I did some private tutoring for some fellow students and a high school student in the area. Therefore, I am equipped to help with junior high through college mathematics because of the range of tutoring opportunities I have been privileged to hold.
Teaching Style
My goal is really for the person I am tutoring to fully understand the information they are trying to learn. In this way, they can understand the basics and build upon that. I believe the best way to approach a new student is to find out their weaknesses and strengths. Then, really put some hard work into making their weak points better and making their strong points the best they can be. I think that it is best for a student to know how to do their work with AND without a calculator for full understanding in mathematics. Finally, I think it is important for a tutor to try to be a friend to the student so that the environment is comfortable and inviting for the best learning outcomes.
