Experience Summary
As an educator with a BA in English and an MA in Education, I have dedicated my life to teaching. I have a passion for all types of literature and writing. As a result, I have taught high school English for 12 years and expository writing at the University of New Mexico in the evening for nine years. During that time, I earned an administrative license qualifying me to be a principal. Instead of immediately becoming an administrator, I moved to Alaska with my husband for several years and explored the wild outdoors. I have moved back to the lower 48, and I have returned to education as a substitute teacher. My qualifications as an English instructor and tutor remain in tact.
Teaching Style
I love to patiently impart my knowledge with curious students one-on-one or in a group. I encourage individuals to do their best and show each person how to take personal interest in his or her work, particularly writing. I start with fundamentals and demonstrate how to expand their pieces of writing from sentence to paragraph to essay.
