Experience Summary
I received my degree from Fairmont State University in WV. I am certified to teach high school physics and chemistry, although I've also taught a few sections of physical science under special circumstances as well. While obtaining my degree, I have taken almost every math, physics, and chemistry class available.
I've had many educational experiences. I have taught science for a few years in central America as well as tutored physics at the college I went to, and I have been a science camp counselor. I was a student guest teacher at a college level physical chemistry class, and I was also a guest teacher for a middle school science class.
Teaching Style
While teaching in a classroom environment, it is difficult to give all the students the individual attention that's needed. It is often that I can help a student get over a small hurdle, but afterward the student is reluctant to take up more time to ask another question while others are having problems and waiting. I've found that while tutoring I can sit alongside a student and work through problems completely, and with just a few more minutes, can give students that need it a greater understanding of the concepts as well as the tools needed to problem solve.
