Experience Summary
For the past seven years I have studied mathematics. Most of those years were spent at Wichita State University. I received my M.S. degree in mathematics while studying dynamical systems under Christian Wolf. I worked as a graduate teacher by instructing courses in Algebra, Trigonometry, etc and by tutoring in all mathematics courses offered at the university through the Calculus sequence. More recently, I have privately tutored students in Statistics, Calculus, Algebra, and GRE preparation in Asheville, NC.
Teaching Style
I approach every student as a unique individual with his or her own struggles. In general, I teach mathematics in a direct and simple way. I do not treat the subject as a game or a bag of tricks. Once the fundamental concept is understood, then I push the students knowledge of applications. However, it is sometimes helpful to open up topics with simple examples. I believe anyone can advance her or her knowledge of mathematics with only a little patience and a larger amount of eagerness to succeed.
