Experience Summary
During college I studied Electrical Engineering for 7 years where I gained an extensive background in mathematics and science while obtaining my Masters Degree. During my Masters program, I composed a 150+ page thesis, which refined my writing, organization, and research skills. During my senior year in undergrad, and throughout my advanced studies, I worked as a math and science tutor, where I taught all maths from algebra to Calculus 3 for the college. In addition, I also worked externally as a middle and high school math tutor. After graduating, I became a Mental Health Therapist for 3 years, where I assisted kids with behavioral disorder such as depression, attention deficit disorder, and adjustment disorder.
Teaching Style
Building a healthy relationship in a friendly learning environment where students feels comfortable and not intimated is essential to reducing anxieties, thereby allowing the student to express themselves and think freely, without pressure.I understand patience and tone of voice is vital to teaching critical thinking skills and strategies needed to perform the most challenging equations. I have experienced that if a student spends time talking their way through problems, they develop a better understanding of the process of problem solving. I ultimately understand that building self confidence provides a child with the self-assurance to learn independently, and develop a love and passion for learning all things
