Experience Summary
As a classroom aid, I was responsible for implementing the curriculum developed by the teacher. I also had the opportunity to work one-on-one with students who needed additional assistance. As an assistant teacher, my duties included but were not limited to curriculum development, facilitating parent teacher conferences, and accurate record keeping of the student's progress. To date, I have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology and two minors in sociology and justice studies. I also have a Masters degree in Public Administration; all of which have contributed to my proficiency in the areas of math, history and public policy as well as excellent communication and writing skills.
Teaching Style
I prefer to teach by utilizing real-life situations that are pertinent to the subject matter. In my opinion, when you are able to bring the subject matter to life by making it relevant to the students you are teaching, there is a greater chance that the student will not only understand the information, but remember it long after they leave the classroom.
