Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in May of 2009 with a Bachelor's of Science in Geography, an interdisciplinary field which enabled me to cover a broad area of subject matter throughout my studies. From studying abroad in Italy, and working abroad in Ecuador, I have a knowledge of Spanish and Italian. For the 2009-2010 school year, I was a substitute teacher in the Elko County School District, and gained valuable experience instructing and tutoring students of all ages, from Kindergarten to High School, and in a wide variety of subject matter, including Geography and other sciences, English, Mathematics, Spanish, and Italian.
Teaching Style
I discovered my passion for instructing, tutoring, and working with youth during my experience as a substitute teacher. I understand that every student has their own unique way of learning, and I believe in a patient approach that will help a student build confidence in the subject matter, and develop good study habits. I think the greatest legacy a person can leave in life is a good impression on younger generations, and therefore I take each teaching opportunity seriously.
