I am applying for the position that you advertised online for Tutors in Math and Science. Given my education and work experience, I would be an ideal match for this position.
I began my college career at Penn State as an Education major and spent the first two years of course work studying the philosophy of education, educational psychology, current teaching trends, instructional analysis, etc..
I have always been "teaching" co-workers and employees in almost all of my positions. In my extensive professional experience, I have developed strong communication, instructional, and administrative skills.
Teaching Style
Teaching and/or training has always been a highlight in my life. After graduation, I accepted a position as an Adult Education Specialist; counseling and interacting with adults (18-65) returning to school for their GED's. I have worked in a variety of settings including open school, individualized, and classroom instruction. Some students need a more independent approach. Other students require much more supervision while still others respond to a positive blend of the two. Most importantly, self-discovery is the keystone to inspired learning and it allows students to stay motivated. I believe that
being the facilitator is my method of choice carefully blending
styles that can make the difference in learning key concepts.
