Experience Summary
I have always had a passion for math and for helping others. While I was in college I was a math tutor for students struggling in remedial math (subject before college algebra) for a whole year. Also, I tutored middle school students in geometry and algebra. I have also babysat small children and helped them daily with their homework. In July of 2010 I received my BA in Mathematics and I am now working on my MA in Teaching. I hope to become a math teacher in the future and be able to help all the students that come my way. I believe math to be a challenging subject, but I also believe that with care, patience and understanding I can teach any student to learn it and even become to love it!
Teaching Style
I am very patient and a really good listener. I believe that every student has his/her own learning style and it is my job to teach them in the best way that they learn. I strive for success and for that sense of accomplishment. I believe in encouraging the student as much as I can. I believe self-esteem is a big key in tutoring, there is nothing better than to feel that the student wants to succeed just for her/himself. I provide a peaceful learning environment where the student will feel comfortable in asking questions and making mistakes. My main goal is to make a difference in every student’s life.
