Experience Summary
Beginning as a teacher assistant while earning a Bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, I have helped others learn the tenets of writing for mass consumption. I have worked as a writer or editor in newspapers and for web sites the past 25 years, offering others assistance in rewriting or reorganizing their work to better conform for publication. I taught an introductory writing course for UALR's journalism school, where I put students through daily writing exercises and helped teach them the standard pyramid news writing format.
Teaching Style
I enjoy helping others realize they have the ability to tell a compelling story through words. I am available to help your child find their voice through the written word. With patience and consideration of their individual backgrounds and talents, I believe I can help provide them journalistic guidelines that will enable them to write clearly and concisely, which will benefit them the rest of their life.
