Experience Summary
During my 13 years in the Navy, I have always excelled in my academics and I welcomed the opportunity to serve as a mentor to my peers as well as subordinates. I have been active in every school that my children have attended and currently work as a tutor occasionally for my sons 8th grade AVID class (math & science) at Galaxy Middle School, Deltona, FL. I have extensive knowledge in many fields that helped me achieve my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Criminal Justice. I also have volunteered at my local church for 3 years and am active in the childrens ministry, where I serve as a mentor and role model.
Teaching Style
When I educate young people, I believe in allowing the class essentially teach themselves and empower them to conduct peer reviews, which does wonders for their self esteem. For adult learners, I have served as a facilitator in many different types of forums and adapted my teaching methods accordingly to my audience and what it is I am hoping to get across. I am extremely patient and am a good listener, which are attributes that I know assist me in building mutually respected and trusting relationships with my students.
