Experience Summary
I am a graduate of Missouri State University in Elementary Education. As this university began its start as a teaching school, the University takes great pride in their Teacher Education programs and requires extensive field experiences. I have tutored students one on one, in groups, and whole class in every grade k-5. During my field experiences as well as my college prep courses, I have learned many different ways to approach the curriculum for elementary students.
Teaching Style
My teaching style reflects that of a child centered approach. In this sense, I believe the teacher should act more as a facilitator and the students as discoverers. I believe that every student can learn but in their own way. There are a variety of learning styles and intelligences that I believe are extremely important to discover and teach to for each student. I also believe that students can thrive when they are given a positive and motivating environment. My goal is to make a positive impact in my students lives'.
