Experience Summary
During my four years obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology, I spent five semesters being a tutor in college algebra, statistics, pre-med biology, and spanish 101. In addition to my tutoring of college students I was a note taker for students with disabilities in various courses as well as on the academic committee in my fraternity. The academic committee was responsible for scheduling study halls and helping with the studies of freshmen members.
Teaching Style
I am a very relaxed person and possess an easy going teaching style. I consider myself very approachable and encourage those I am tutoring to ask questions. I specialize in math and biology and am able to teach to students with varying aptitudes in these subjects. My math teaching style consists of working practice problems and teaching different ways of solving problems since each student is different, not the same method works for each student. In science I try to relate the subject in terms of everyday life. I am very extroverted and always want people to feel comfortable around me. I think it is very important to have the students be comfortable to avoid the stress and anxiety that can accompany learning a difficult subject.
