Experience Summary
I have always had a love for helping others learn, inspired especially by my three younger siblings who had learning disabilities. This, as well as my experience in high school assisting a teacher of the blind, motivated me to obtain a Special and Elementary Education BA degree in college. I have experience teaching a diverse range of students in many different situations: the classroom, a special education resource room, at public schools, at private schools, and in home schools. For the past twenty years I have been tutoring students in Kindergarten through the Eighth grade, especially in Math, Reading, Spelling, and Language Arts.
Teaching Style
We are all given different strengths and weaknesses, different talents and challenges. I enjoy assessing these in each student as well as creating and executing an individualized plan of learning, guiding the student towards academic success. I love all children, am encouraging, patient, and thoughtful of each individual's needs. I consider a teacher's success synonymous with his/her student's success. I would be excited and privileged to help make a difference in your child's life.
