Experience Summary
My work experience over the last 25 years has been a variety of private tutoring, public schools, and a residential treatment center. I have experience working with all ages of children from kindergarten to college level. I specialize in teaching children with learning disabilites, or students who seem to struggle with learning new skills or retaining information.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is based on; first instilling in the student that they "can" learn and there is nothing they cannot achieve. I teach them through building on successes and the skills they already know, then introduce new skills and practice applying them to real life situations where this step allows the students to see the relevancy of what they are doing. I believe in providing a multitude of verbal praise for each step of learning. I believe in encouraging students to ask questions and not be afraid to say for the one hundreth time, "I dont get it".
