Experience Summary
I was a volunteer camp counselor responsible for youth ages 12-18, teaching, leading for a week at a time for the duration of 9-13 weeks for three summers. I served as registration coordinator, training a staff of at least 15 group leaders, overseeing all registration responsibilities including check-in/check-out, organizing meeting spaces for each group, scheduling staff assignments, keeping complete weekly inventory and cash box tallies, organizing staff room assignments and other staff care responsibilities. During college I pursued a fine art degree focusing on Photography. Having taken classes in ASL when first entering college, I decided to return to pursuing a career involving American Sign Language.
Teaching Style
I have an interactive teaching style, focusing on accurate information and positive motivation. I will provide ample opportunity for students to learn though assignments, puzzles and real-life, practical examples. I’m naturally cheerful and encouraging with an optimistic outlook which makes practice not feel like work, although I expect students to work hard. My personal beliefs and life experices steer me in the direction to cultivate good moral character in all those around me.
