Experience Summary
As a graduate of Florida State University and a current corps member in Teach For America I am very much driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education. My degrees, in both Political Science and Interdisciplinary Social Science, have given me insight in many areas, specifically, politics, history, humanities, and writing as well as grammar. Upon graduating I joined Teach For America where I have worked and taught children in the 1st, 3rd and 5th grades in all subject areas (math, english language arts, reading, science and social studies). I am currently working toward a masters in Early Childhood Education at Georgia State University (with a focus on reading and mathematics).
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all children. I believe all children can learn, but each in different ways. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible for my students. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and a constructivist approach to learning inside my classroom and also with students I tutor. I believe all children can exceed thier dreams when given the appropriate materials to do so. A few good educators can make dreams a reality for any student. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives.
