Experience Summary
As a graduate from college with a degree in geology, I am familiar with challenges that students may face in succeeding in school. The process of college taught me many learning skills that ultimately helped me succeed. During college and high school, I took many math and science classes, however, I have also taking several writing classes, and completed a senior thesis, which greatly improved my writing. Since high school I have been involved with several tutoring opportunities, including tutoring elementary level math, as well as, volunteering with environmental education organization.
Teaching Style
Through out my academic career I have faced many challenges, and many times have had to turn to tutors and peers for help, as a result I am familiar with the dilemmas children can face. Through my experience with children, I believe that all children find success if the material is presented in a manner that suites them. As a result I believe in trying many different ways to share my knowledge, I can help a child succeed in academically. Because each child learns differently, and faces different challenges and strengths, I value patience and perseverance in my interactions with them. I work towards helping each child see their success and become better people.
