Experience Summary
I hold degrees in various fields of study, and I currently work as a resource teacher for students with special needs in the elementary grades. My masters degree in teaching students with learning disabilities has prepared me for working with students who have trouble in a traditional academic setting. I work closely with parents and other professionals to differentiate materials and teaching processes according to each child's needs. My arts backround allows me to "think out of the box" when it comes to ways of engaging children with learning.
Teaching Style
Hands-on activities, multi-sensory integration, and high interest activities, promote retention of material. Students can connect to learning in a meaningful way. My aim is to foster a child's natural curiousity, which makes learning a positive and enjoyable experience. I am a patient and positive person, and I enjoy working with children.
